We are proud to present our 2022 Annual Report. The 2022 year was very successful and we are grateful for your support!
The Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in the San Francisco and Peninsula area by supporting programs that foster educational growth and to provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships and awards. We were founded in 1999. Over the past eight years, our signature event has been our Financial Fortitude Workshop that has impacted over 1,000 individuals.
The Delta San Francisco-Peninsula Foundation strives to create positive change in communities throughout the San Francisco Peninsula area. Delta, a symbol for change, represents the spirit of the Foundation. Established in 1999 as a non-profit organization by members of the San Francisco Peninsula Alumnae Chapter (SFPAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Foundation was created as a separate legal entity to improve the quality of life for residents throughout the San Francisco Peninsula area. The Foundation’s primary goals are to support programs that promote educational growth and provide financial assistance in the form of educational scholarships to local students.
Over the years, the Foundation has successfully raised more than $500,000 in funds by cultivating a strong donor base and hosting community events and programs, including the Financial Fortitude Workshop series. Proceeds raised by the Foundation are directly used to fund scholarships for underrepresented youth throughout the San Francisco Peninsula area. Eligible scholarship recipients receive support for four years.
Since 2006, we have given four-year scholarships to sixteen students totaling $165,165.00. Ten of our students have graduated from college. Six students remain in various four-year colleges. One of our scholarship recipients, now a MD, serves on the Board. In May, 2018, a scholarship recipient graduated from USC School of Law and is now employed by the Tucker Law Firm in Los Angeles. Presently, each scholarship recipient receives $5,000 per year for four years.
The Foundation works closely with SFPAC as well as other community organizations to raise funds for the Foundation and SFPAC administer the scholarships. However, the Foundation is an entirely separate organization and operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
